No. Do not run with a calf strain. Even though it is possible to run with a calf strain, it is likely that you will cause more damage to the muscle.
You must let the muscle repair and recover. You will need to do the following.
Give the muscle time to rest.
Time will be the best factor with recovering. Test it week by week to see if you still have discomfort in the muscle.
Hopefully, the muscle will recover within 1-2 weeks. Although it can take up to 6 weeks for the muscle to recover.
Fuel your muscles so that it can repair itself quickly.
Ensure that you are consuming nutrients that help the muscle recover. This includes:
- Collagen
- Vitamin D
- Fish Oil
- Protein powder
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Lean protein (meats)
- L-Glutamine
- Water
